Every year, in srIperumbUthUr, on kArthigai thiruvAdhirai vanabhOjanam uthsavam is celebrated. Adhi kEsava perumaL with ubhaya nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr goes on a beautiful sojourn to jIyar thOttam (garden) which is situated near the srIperumbUthUr bus terminus. The whole day is filled with various activities with grandeur. This year too, the uthsavam was celebrated with great enthusiasm for the pleasure of emperumAn, his nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr. Here is a brief account on the various activities that happened on Nov 21st. Full set of pictures can be seen at https://plus.google.com/photos/107723698299182214927/albums/5948867922808389297.

  • Morning
    • After viswarUpam and nithyAnusandhAnam (upadhEsa rathina mAlai gOshti as we are amidst anadhyayana kAlam), emperumAn, nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr were beautifully decorated for the puRappAdu.

Notice the beautiful crowns of emperumAn and emperumAnAr (more to observe in the end)
    • puRappAdu happens with great pomp and fervour. Special band vAdhyams (music) and kEraLa drummers were arranged for the puRappAdu.
    • Wonderfully decorated emperumAn, nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr begin their journey to the garden surrounded by many umbrellas (both for protection from sun and to show that they are supreme as large umbrellas indicate supremacy generally).

    • After reaching the garden, a short dharshan of emperumAn, nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr on Unjal (jhUla - swing) was observed.
    • In between, at vAnamAmalai mutt, there was upadhEsa rathina mAlai gOshti and sARRumuRai for thiruvAdhirai.

  • Afternoon
    • Grand thirumanjanam for emperumAn, nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr with vEdha/upanishadh recitals.
    • upadhEsa rathina mAlai, sthOthra rathnam and yathirAja vimsathi gOshti and sARRumuRai.

  • Evening
    • grand puRappAdu for emperumAn, nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr with wonderful lightings, bands, etc., from jIyar thOttam.
Notice the beautiful crowns interchanged between emperumAn and emperumAnAr
    • upadhEsa rathina mAlai gOshti from pushkariNi (after entering the vicinity of temple).
    • thiruvAimozhi nURRanthAdhi gOshti and sARRumuRai.
Overall a wonderful day to relish under the divine lotus feet of emperumAn, nAchiyArs and emperumAnAr.
