panguni uthram is the most auspicious day in srIvaishNava calendar. It is the appearance (janma nakshathram) of periya pirAttiyAr and nanjIyar. In many dhivya dhEsams, thirukkalyANam (wedding ceremony) for thAyAr and perumAL is performed on this day. emperumAnAr's gadhya thrayam is also recited at various dhivya dhEsams on this day. Usually, on this day, perumAL will visit thAyAr sannidhi and be there for the whole day until next morning. Full glories of panguni uthram can be read at http://ponnadi.blogspot.in/2013/03/panguni-uthram-and-emperumanar.html
In srIperumbUthUr, panguni uthram was celebrated this year in a grand manner. Here is the list of events and their details. Full set of pictures can be viewed at https://plus.google.com/photos/107723698299182214927/albums/6001939370766866225

This was recited on this same panguni uthram day, more than 1000 years ago by emperumAnAr in front of periya pirAttiyAr and periya perumAL at srIrangam, panguni uthra maNdapam (in the prAkAram of thAyAr sannidhi)

It is purely by the divine compassion of emperumAnAr, we are able to enjoy these wonderful anubhavams in various dhiyva dhEsams. Let us be ever grateful to emperumAnAr whose lotus feet are the only refuge for us - "uyya orE vazhi udayavar thiruvadi".
